Velodyne Lidar has brought on a new strategic investor.

Velodyne Lidar announced on the 24th that it has attracted a $25 million investment from Nikon Corporation. The two companies also stated that they have begun discussions on multi-faceted business partnerships. Nikon is a company that supplies products and solutions based on advanced optoelectronics and precision technology.
Under the goal of integrating Nikon's optical and precision technologies with Velodyne's sensor technology, the two companies have begun exploring comprehensive business partnerships including technology development and manufacturing collaboration.
Velodyne expects to accelerate the manufacturing and mass production schedule of lidar sensors through the business partnership. Velodyne and Nikon share a common vision for the future of advanced perception technology used in diverse applications including robotics, mapping, security, shuttle, drone, and road safety.
David Hall, founder and CEO of Velodyne Lidar, said, "Velodyne is building a strong alliance network to support the global autonomous vehicle industry," and added, "Nikon's optical and camera technology, which a century ago contributed to improving human vision, will now improve computer vision."

KT Enters Countdown to Commercialization of C-V2X Vehicle Terminals
KT has successfully developed C-V2X commercialization technology in collaboration with domestic SME IT Telecom. TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility. It simultaneously meets the high-accuracy requirements and miniaturization driven by the expansion of 800V architectures.
