Included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for 15 consecutive times Infineon Technologies (Korea CEO Seung-Soo Lee) has been selected as the world's leading sustainable company for leading sustainable semiconductor technology, achieving carbon neutrality goals, and more.
Infineon announced on the 26th that it has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and Europe Index published by S&P Global for the 15th consecutive time.
This is recognition of Infineon's performance in the field of corporate sustainability, placing it in the top 10% of the 2,500 largest companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index.
Infineon's core business, semiconductors, enables efficient use of resources and the full potential of digital technologies.
Infineon's products can reduce carbon emissions generated during manufacturing by 45 times.
Infineon aims to improve this ratio with more energy-efficient, intelligent semiconductor solutions. For example, advanced power systems enable high levels of energy efficiency in renewable energy production, data centers, and electric vehicles.
Infineon also continues its efforts to reduce its own carbon footprint.
It aims to be carbon neutral by 2030 and has already reduced its scope 1 and scope 2 emissions by two-thirds.
By 2025, we will achieve a 70% reduction target compared to the base year of 2019.
Currently, Infineon has the lowest scope 1 and scope 2 emissions and the lowest water consumption in its industry.
Infineon sets science-based CO2 emissions reduction targets in line with the Paris Agreement, including its supply chain (Scope 3).
In 2024, we set a milestone of increasing transparency into our customers’ carbon footprints by publishing detailed data on the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) of individual products.
In addition, Infineon is developing cutting-edge power systems to produce renewable energy and increase energy efficiency in data centers and electric vehicles.
This allows Infineon's products to significantly reduce the carbon emissions generated during the manufacturing process over their entire life cycle and provide better energy efficiency.
Infineon's goal is not simply to reduce carbon emissions, but to help customers understand and manage their carbon footprint transparently.
To this end, Infineon continues its efforts toward sustainability, including setting science-based targets and disclosing the carbon footprint of individual products.
“Infineon’s inclusion in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for the 15th consecutive time is recognition of our sustainable business strategy and performance,” said Seungsoo Lee, CEO of Infineon Technologies Korea. “We will continue to work to strengthen sustainability in the future,” he said.
