Schneider Electric announced on the 16th that it will focus on providing Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) solutions optimized for industrial sites.

With the recent increase in extreme weather phenomena such as severe cold and heatwaves, concerns are growing regarding disruptions in power supply and the potential for large-scale power outages. Since power outages or malfunctions in power facilities at industrial sites result in significant financial losses, preparation for such situations is essential.

According to a 2017 survey by IT consulting firm ITIC, large enterprises suffer losses of approximately $100,000 (about 110 million won) or more per hour when system outages occur, such as with servers, applications, and networks.

In particular, as IoT applications increase and digital tools are integrated, it is necessary to provide a consistent power system. Proper power protection is essential as industrial sectors such as semiconductors, oil, mining, steel, chemicals, and machinery manufacturing are embracing digitalization to prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Accordingly, Schneider Electric plans to focus on introducing UPS systems to the domestic market that provide normal power supply for a certain period in the event of a power outage or power equipment malfunction. UPS systems are one of the essential pieces of equipment applicable to large buildings, data centers, and industrial sites across the board.

Schneider Electric's UPS systems offer excellent durability and safety, as well as energy savings. Currently, numerous companies are adopting Schneider Electric's UPS systems. In particular, products such as the 'Galaxy VX' and 'Symmetra PX' have been installed at Samsung SDI's Cheonan plant, providing stable power to sensitive equipment. Following the implementation of Schneider Electric products, not only has the impact of power outages at Samsung SDI's Cheonan plant been reduced, but malfunctions of power equipment and machinery have also been significantly minimized.

The 'Smart-UPS' enables intelligent and efficient power protection by including voltage level adjustment and Automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) functions.
