Release of 40V, Low-Noise Precision Instrumentation Amplifier with Integrated ADC Driver
July 11, 2012 – Intersil, a global leader in the design and production of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, announced today the release of a 40V low-noise instrumentation amplifier. The newly introduced product is the industry's first precision instrumentation amplifier to feature an integrated ADC level shifter and driver.
The ISL28617 includes a differential output function to enable easy connection with today's high-performance differential input ADCs. It provides excellent gain accuracy and a gain temperature factor over a temperature range of 40°C to 125°C, as well as the highest common mode rejection ratio (CMRR) across all gain configurations. Noise is measured at just 8.6 nV/√Hz @ 1 kHz and 85 nVrms between 0.1 Hz and 10 Hz; unlike typical instrumentation amplifiers that provide only gain, the ISL28617 offers both high gain and attenuation. The ISL28617 is ideal for instrumentation, industrial, motor control, and medical systems.
Product Features and Details
Integrated differential input ADC driver that simplifies the design of high-performance 24-bit instrumentation systems
An excellent solution for single and dual supply voltage operation
Provides high gain (10,000x) and attenuation (0.1x) capabilities for flexible data acquisition systems
Low noise characteristics ideal for noise-sensitive or high-gain applications
The ISL28617 is one of Intersil’s precision low-noise signal chain solution families, which includes the low-noise voltage reference ‘ISL21090’ and the low-noise 24-bit delta-sigma ADC ‘ISL26134’. In addition, when using Vishay Precision Group's next-generation Z-1 Bulk Metal Foil technology FRSM chip resistors, gain settings are provided with non-measurement noise while maintaining excellent gain accuracy even under exceptional thermal and environmental stress conditions.
Price and sales information
The ISL28617 is currently available in a small 24-lead TSSOP package, with pricing starting at $2.85 per 1,000 units. Additional product information can be found at http://www.intersil.com/products/ISL28617 .
