(NASDAQ: DSM), a leading provider of innovative, highly integrated power management, audio and short-range wireless technologies, today announced that its power management solution with integrated Class G headphone driver technology has been selected for the YP-W1, a companion MP3 player to Samsung Electronics' Galaxy SIII (S3) smartphone.

Samsung Electronics' YP-W1 is an ultra-compact, portable MP3 player that can be connected to an information display device. It offers the simplicity of a micro MP3 player while connecting to a Samsung Galaxy S III via USB, allowing for content control and system exchange without a PC. The YP-W1 MP3 player is specifically designed for runners and athletes.
With a stylish exterior and dimensions of 32.5 x 43.1 x 13.2mm, this audio player has 4GB of built-in memory (capacity to store about 1,000 songs) and weighs only 13.3g. It also features a long battery life of 17 hours while playing high-quality audio of 44.1kHz using MP3, WMA, Ogg, and lossless FLAC codecs.
