| Utilizing new digital technologies to transform service delivery
Business announcements start today, business briefing on the 28th
The Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) announced on the 17th that they will begin full-scale implementation of the 2019 National Digital Transformation Project, which will support the creation of new public service markets utilizing new digital technologies such as AI and big data.

The National Digital Transformation Project aims to transform the public software market's business structure, previously dependent on government procurement, into a service model leveraging new digital technologies. It supports platform construction and commercialization, along with new project planning to discover innovative services.
This year, with a budget of 9.25 billion won, we plan to support the establishment of a government- and local-government-led data platform and the formation of an initial market for innovative services proposed by the private sector, enabling the proliferation of innovative ideas and technology-based services.

Building a data platform for excellent government-led projects from the previous year. The first year of this project will be supported. To support the introduction and commercialization of innovative services developed through private investment, the government and local governments will be provided with initial service fees (2019 contributions).

For new projects, we plan to categorize them into government-led and private-led projects and support the development of specific project plans for the selected projects.

The government-led project involves the participation of a professional IT consulting firm to support the digital transformation of public services and the planning of a data platform that can provide diverse business opportunities for software companies. After the project planning is completed, evaluations will be conducted to prioritize support for this project next year.

The private sector-led initiative supports the planning of service-type business models based on new IT technologies, enabling companies to proactively pursue these initiatives. Incentives will be provided, including additional points for outstanding projects selected for support projects aimed at developing the initial service market next year.
This contest will be conducted in an open competition format to enable the expansion of innovative services based on digital new technologies in various fields. Competitive projects are selected by comprehensively evaluating the feasibility of the project, the will of the hosting organization, and expected effects.

Details on the project can be found on the National Information Society Agency website (www.nia.or.kr) or the project electronic submission page (dt.koipa.or.kr) starting March 18th, and a project briefing session will be held at 2:00 PM on March 28th in the main lecture hall on the 7th floor of Anam Tower (311 Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul).
