Data processing is rapidly moving to the edge. Gartner predicts that by 2022, more than 50% of the data generated by enterprises will be created and processed outside of data centers or the cloud. Computing assets at the enterprise edge must now be monitored not only for performance but also for security vulnerabilities.
Keysight Ixia Solutions Group announced on the 19th that it has launched the Vision Edge 1S (E1S) visibility solution. The new solution provides network visibility for remote sites and edge computing by integrating Network Packet Broker capabilities, applications, and integrated monitoring functions into a single tool at an efficient cost.

When Ixia's Vision ONE network packet broker and CloudLens visibility platform are combined with The ProtectWise Grid, an on-demand platform featuring full packet memory that provides real-time and retrospective detection and advanced network forensics, enterprises can enjoy the following benefits.

First, E1S utilizes advanced packet broker capabilities (line speeds of up to 10G) to filter and distribute traffic received from the edge, enabling centrally deployed security and monitoring tools to receive monitoring-related data. It also supports application performance monitoring at the edge through application monitoring, including remote packet capture and enhanced flow monitoring (Netflow/IxFlow).

In addition, application performance prediction and network capacity and performance at the edge are verified through performance monitoring via synthetic traffic generation (up to 10G line speed). In addition, integration with other Vision packet brokers provides comprehensive visibility into the performance and security monitoring infrastructure.
