RS-485 Transceiver Operating at 1.8V Launch
Published2012.07.19 14:04July 19, 2012 – Intersil, a global leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced the launch of RS-485 transceivers that operate at a minimum supply voltage of 1.8V without requiring 3.3V or 5V power supplies.
Intersil's newly launched ISL32600E, ISL32601E, ISL32602E, and ISL32603E are self-powered RS-485 transceivers for noise-free data communication. The ISL32602E and ISL32603E are specifically designed to operate at supply voltages between 1.8V and 3.6V, consuming only 105µA standby current at 1.8V. The products also consume a very low 10nA shutdown current, providing extended battery life in remotely operated nodes. The product family offers ESD protection up to ±15kV per IEC61000 and can operate in extreme environments up to 125°C.
The ISL32600E and ISL32601E can operate when Vcc is below 2.7V and provide a supply current of 80µA when both the transmitter and receiver are enabled.
The ISL3260x product family, requiring low voltage and low standby current, is ideal for applications such as flow meters or security systems that demand minimal voltage and power consumption. It can also be designed for industrial control networks, security camera networks, or building environmental control systems.
The receivers in the ISL3260xE product family feature symmetrical switching thresholds and increased hysteresis to enhance noise immunity. Additionally, they reduce duty cycle distortion in applications with slowly moving input signals.
