Cisco and SK C&C to Develop Next-Generation User Network Management Platform for Shared Office Environments

Cisco Systems announced on the 1st that it is collaborating with SK C&C to develop next-generation user network technology that provides convenience and security in shared office environments.
Cisco and SK C&C have signed an MOU for next-generation user network technology development
On March 29, at SK C&C's Pangyo Campus located in Pangyo Techno Valley, Seongnam City, Gyeonggi Province, the two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding for "Software-Defined Access (SDA) development and business cooperation," which is Cisco's next-generation user network SDN (Software-defined networking) solution. Attending the signing were Cho Shin, Vice President of Cisco Korea, and Shin Jang-soo, Head of Communications Infrastructure Business Division at SK C&C, among other representatives from both companies. According to this MOU, both companies plan to implement an SDN-based "next-generation user network management platform."
The next-generation user network management platform is a single physical network but logically segmented to allow users from multiple companies to individually access both companies' internal networks. Additionally, through user policy automation, it can simultaneously resolve security vulnerabilities that may arise from the diversification of IT services such as personnel transfers, IoT device integration, and third-party collaboration.
Therefore, when introducing the next-generation SDA based on Cisco's SDN solution for shared office construction, network segmentation can be performed without additional physical investment even if IT service requirements change in the future, and advantages such as more efficient overall investment cost management are expected.
Both companies utilized SDA technology to complete development of "Multi-domain authentication" application functionality in April 2018 and are currently constructing and operating it at various industry customers pursuing shared office initiatives.
Cho Shin, Vice President of Cisco Korea, stated, "SDA is a solution optimized for shared offices as it efficiently manages the rapidly growing array of terminals such as smartphones and IoT devices while minimizing security threats. Cisco will work in cooperation with SK C&C to provide users with the best network experience and support companies in addressing challenges they face through digital networks."
Shin Jang-soo, Head of Communications Infrastructure Business Division at SK C&C, remarked, "Through the development of next-generation user network technology and technology dissemination across industries, we will achieve groundbreaking IT infrastructure improvements."

Cisco Systems is entering into full-scale business operations in industrial control system security through collaboration with POSCO ICT, addressing security needs in industrial sites and national critical infrastructure. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems.
