New low-power LED driver with integrated MOSFET helps designers save board space and design time
As the LED lighting market continues to grow, designers are demanding solutions that meet limited circuit board footprints, meet circuit protection and system reliability requirements while complying with global energy regulations, and simplify supply chain logistics. As a leader in MOSFET technology, Fairchild continues to offer the latest LED lamp drivers. The FLS0116, FLS3217, and FLS3247, which integrate MOSFETs and PFC, are optimally designed for low-power LED applications. The addition of integrated power MOSFETs helps reduce design time while minimizing board space and overall component count. By providing integrated protection features such as cycle-by-cycle current limiting, over-temperature protection (OTP), and under-voltage lockout (UVLO), these devices can significantly improve LED lamp system reliability.
The FLS0116 can enable/disable the PFC function by utilizing the “adopted digital” technique that automatically detects the AC and DC input voltage conditions, and also provides programmable oscillation frequency, analog dimming, and soft-start functions. The PSRFLS3217 and FLS3247, which provide primary-side regulation (PSR) function, can support isolated flyback converter and non-isolated DC-DC converter applications. Additionally, the devices feature accurate constant-current control (CC) to accurately regulate output current and linear frequency control to increase efficiency for easier design.
