2018 Domestic Storage Market Status
It is analyzed that the increase in corporate data capacity and the spread of AFA (All Flash Array) have driven market growth.
IDC categorizes enterprise storage systems into external storage systems, internal storage systems, and ODM direct.
Looking at the overall market sales of enterprise storage, it recorded KRW 1.078 trillion, a 5.4% increase year-on-year.
The market growth appears to be driven by the boom in the global semiconductor market, which has led domestic semiconductor manufacturers to achieve record-high sales and increase investment in IT infrastructure.

Along with the growth of the external storage system market, internal storage systems also recorded the highest growth rate of 16.7%, generating total sales of KRW 436.1 billion, due to increased disk usage resulting from the growth of the server and HCI markets.
In this storage system market report, IDC stated that as the data generated within organizations increases explosively and its types become more diverse, storage technology is rapidly evolving to manage it more efficiently and utilize it in actual work.
In addition, as customer needs become more diverse than in the past, storage vendors should be able to provide customers with insights into the new storage environment that is coming in the future, in addition to providing products that accommodate these needs.
Kim Min-cheol, a senior researcher in charge of storage system market research at IDC Korea, said, "The unique functions and performance of storage are still maintained in external storage systems," and "External storage systems are still continuously required for mission-critical services, such as production lines or design facilities in the manufacturing industry and accounting systems in the financial industry."

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
