TI Korea (CEO Kent Chun, www.ti.com/ww/kr) August 2, 2012 - TI (CEO Kent Chun) has introduced the C2000™ LaunchPad evaluation kit, based on the Piccolo™ 32-bit TMS320F2802x microcontroller. With the launch of C2000™ LaunchPad, evaluation and prototype development of digital real-time control applications is now possible at a lower cost and with greater ease. Backed by the success of the TI microcontroller LaunchPad ecosystem, the newly launched C2000 LaunchPad evaluation kit comes equipped with everything needed including the device, emulation, and software. Additionally, designed as a modular evaluation kit with quick execution capability, it enables developers, hobbyists, and students alike to easily evaluate cutting-edge real-time control technology used in digital motor control, lighting, and power conversion.

The TI microcontroller LaunchPad ecosystem, which includes the MSP430™ LaunchPad and the new C2000™ LaunchPad, can be easily expanded using 12 booster pack expansion boards. Going forward, booster packs will continue to be enhanced with additional functionality to expand their application range. For example, for LED lighting applications requiring multi-string lighting or color mixing functionality, the C2000 LaunchPad is compatible with the new $30 LED booster pack to deliver complete performance. Additionally, developers can quickly get started on design work through TI's free controlSUITE software and resources, and benefit from sharing project ideas and exchanging best practices through a large open-source community.

C2000 LaunchPad Evaluation Kit Features and Benefits

Pricing and Availability
The new C2000 LaunchPad (LAUNCHXL-F28027) is currently priced at $17, and the LED booster pack (BOOSTXL-C2KLED) is available for $30. The compatible MSP430 LaunchPad (MSP-EXP430G2) and capacitive touch booster pack (430BOOST-SENSE1) are also currently available, and the Stellaris® LaunchPad will be available soon.
