Keysight Launches Next-Generation Integrated Network Analyzer

Keysight Technologies announced on the 12th that it has launched a next-generation network analyzer.
Keysight E5080B Network Analyzer
The new E5080B and P50xxA Series, and M980xA Series network analyzers deliver reliability and repeatability with industry-leading dynamic range, trace noise, and temperature stability. It also provides a wide range of software applications to enable engineers to consistently perform comprehensive device characterization.
High-speed digital, wireless, aerospace and defense, and automotive companies require integrated active and passive components for devices such as mobile phones, satellite communications, and 5G base stations to improve performance and reduce end-product size.
Highly integrated devices require highly integrated test solutions that can address radio frequency (RF) test challenges while delivering advanced features and performance.
Keysight's new network analyzers deliver next-generation capabilities and performance in benchtop, USB, and PXI form factors, combining a built-in pulse generator and modulator, spectrum analysis, and time-domain analysis into a single instrument to save time by enabling characterization of advanced devices without additional test hardware.
The new product is available immediately and provides customers with a simplified test setup with quick reconfiguration and calibration, while minimizing maintenance and downtime costs by reducing the number of parts in the setup. Accuracy is improved, particularly by eliminating losses caused by simple additional connections and external switches.
Keysight's new network analyzers include measurement application software for time domain analysis, basic pulsed RF measurements, scalar mixer/converter measurements, and spectrum analysis.
“Keysight understands the unique challenges engineers face when testing components that require a variety of measurements, such as multiple-input, multiple-output antennas used in wireless communications,” said Joe Rickert, vice president of Keysight’s high-frequency measurement R&D business. “Our new network analyzers provide the core capabilities engineers need to perform the diverse measurements they require in a single instrument.”

Keysight's V2X test solution, the E6953A DSRC V2X, has received OmniAir's qualified test equipment certification.
Recently, automotive manufacturers and their suppliers have been investing in V2X technology to improve vehicle safety and efficiency in the connected car sector. Keysight's V2X test solution, E6953A DSRC V2X, has obtained OmniAir Qualified Test Equipment (OQTE) certification. OQTE certification is overseen by the OmniAir Consortium, which was established to promote interoperability and certification for ITS, toll collection, and connected cars. The E6953A DSRC V2X test solution provides automotive manufacturers and suppliers with confidence that their devices and software will pass global industry requirements for interoperability and compliance with current standards and regulations.

National Instruments (NI), Tessolve, and JonsTech jointly unveiled a quad-site mmWave 5G package test solution. One of the key components of the mmWave 5G package test solution is NI's semiconductor test system. NI recently added multisite mmWave test capabilities for 5G power amplifiers, beamformers, and transceivers. The solution is characterized by modularity featuring reusable software with a modular mmWave radio head and baseband/IF instrumentation, which is also a strength, enabling it to handle additional mmWave frequency bands in the future.

European Patent Applications Surpass 200,000 for the First Time… South Korea Maintains 5th Place, Led by Batteries and Telecommunications
According to the European Patent Office (EPO)'s 'Technology Dashboard 2025', European patent applications last year reached 201,974, surpassing 200,000 for the first time. Korean companies and inventors filed 14,355 applications, representing a 9.5% increase from the previous year and maintaining 5th place by country. Battery, digital communication, and semiconductor technologies led the growth, with Samsung ranking as the top EPO applicant for the second consecutive year and LG reaching 3rd place. The presence of major domestic cities such as Seoul, Suwon, and Yongin was also confirmed. It was also revealed that Korea's European patent strategy is expanding beyond individual technologies to span the entire industry.

SK Telecom First Applies AI-Based Network Operations at Gwanghwamun K-Pop Concert
SK Telecom announced that it applied an AI-based network operation system for the first time at a large-scale K-pop concert held in the Gwanghwamun area of Seoul on March 21st, managing communication quality throughout the event. Mobile data usage during the three hours before and after the concert reached 12.15TB, approximately doubling compared to the same time slot the previous weekend. SK Telecom monitored traffic using the AI system 'A-One' in five-minute and 50-meter units to respond to potential overload situations, while also operating temporary communication facilities and on-site personnel in parallel. This case is interpreted as confirmation of the practical applicability of AI-based autonomous network operation in an environment where demand from dense events and foreign users increases simultaneously.
