Gain visibility into cloud traffic and
Support for forensic investigation and rapid incident response

Keysight's Ixia Solutions business unit announced on the 27th that it is expanding cooperation with Symantec to improve hybrid network security.

Through the integration of Ixia's cloud solution 'CloudLens' and the threat detection and forensics solution 'Symantec Security Analytics,' Symantec customers can now gain real-time visibility into hybrid cloud environments.

Companies often experience a lack of visibility into cloud assets as they migrate network resources to the cloud.

Gartner pointed out last August that if IT operations organizations adopt the cloud, they will not have equal access to the infrastructure and networks that form the basis of their services, which could lead to monitoring problems.

In January of this year, it was pointed out that the rapid adoption of cloud services and the increase in cloud infrastructure and platform services are causing problems of complexity and unmanaged risks.

Enterprise SOC teams require packet-level access to cloud assets to ensure they are protected in a hybrid network environment.

He emphasized, “The integration of Ixia and security analytics enables SOC managers to gain visibility into cloud workload traffic, allowing them to identify the sources and scope of sophisticated threats or attacks extending into cloud environments.”

Bryan Cardoza, a Symantec Product Manager, stated, “Recently, enterprises are managing assets in mixed environments, including on-premises and public clouds,” adding that “hybrid environments can make security deployment and threat resolution more complex.”

Symantec Security Analytics, a key component of Symantec's integrated cyber defense solution, provides seamless traffic visibility in hybrid networks together with Ixia's CloudLens and Vision ONE.

In the physical network, Ixia's Vision One network packet broker aggregates and processes traffic from multiple access points and delivers it to the Symantec Security Analytics Appliance.

In a cloud environment, Ixia's CloudLens visibility agent sends traffic to Symantec's virtual appliance deployed in a public cloud environment After transmission, traffic from physical and virtual appliances is analyzed, and the results are transmitted through aggregated views within Security Analytics.

This solution enables visibility into and evidence reconstruction for hybrid networks through access to all packet data received from physical and virtual networks and the public cloud—namely, fully augmented metadata and complete packet details.

It performs automated continuous threat detection and analysis that supports real-time investigation of large volumes of data to enable analysts to detect threats proactively, through regression analysis, generation of interrelated events, and long-term retention for impact analysis to detect future security threats.
