KT announced that it has developed 'GiGAeyes Active Sound Sensing' technology that combines video and sound to detect the surroundings without blind spots.
GigaEyes Active Sound Sensing is a technology that detects surrounding situations by combining GigaEyes, KT's intelligent video security platform, with sound detection. Its unique feature is that it utilizes sound, an area that was not previously utilized.
This technology enables 360° detection with no blind spots.
Customers can now use KT's security services via mobile devices.
The service also has a number of features, including detection of door opening, loitering, window intrusion, abnormal airflow, and temperature change (fire warning).
GigaEyes Active Sound Sensing utilizes sound sensors from startup company Secuworks.
KT Convergence Technology Institute Convergence Research Center Director Hong Kyung-pyo said, “We will lead the convergence security market, which is the future security industry trend, by developing a differentiated solution based on a platform that can change the landscape of the existing video security market.”uo; said.

Railway communications become 10x faster with DWDM devices
SK Telecom has concluded a construction contract with the Korea Railroad Infrastructure Corporation for the "procurement and installation of high-density wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) devices" for the Gungjang Industrial Complex access railroad and four other projects. SK Telecom, in consortium with Woo-net and others, has secured the contract for the southern high-density wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) device project, which involves constructing a railroad communication network in southern regions outside the Seoul metropolitan area, including Gwangju, Daejeon, Daegu, and Busan. The contract period extends until December 31, 2020, with a total contract value of approximately 6.8 billion won. DWDM transmission equipment is a device that transmits signals by encoding them onto light wavelengths. All communications ranging from LTE-R, the integrated railroad wireless network, and KTCS for inter-train communication, to security services such as CCTV and computerized communications for train ticket reservations are all conducted through the DWDM network, making it a critical infrastructure for railroad communications.

KT and Renault Samsung Launch EasyLink, an AI-Based In-Vehicle Infotainment System That Understands Drivers
KT has launched EasyLink, a vehicle infotainment (IVI) system based on Giga Genie, in partnership with Renault Samsung Motors. EasyLink will be applied to Renault Samsung's new model The New QM6, and the two companies plan to continue expanding connected car services to enhance customer convenience. EasyLink, equipped with KT's AI service Giga Genie, is a system that allows users to control vehicle infotainment services through voice commands. It is convenient as various contents can be executed with simple commands. Services such as Wonnaevi and Genie Music can be operated on the in-vehicle display even without a smartphone. Renault Samsung Motors plans to make the service available to customers who have already purchased The New QM6.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM.
