IBM's software portfolio is optimized for Red Hat OpenShift.
IBM announced on the 2nd that it has transformed its software portfolio to be cloud-native and optimized for Red Hat OpenShift through its newly announced IBM Cloud Paks.
This allows enterprise customers to run mission-critical applications across all clouds with a single deployment, without having to convert to each cloud service.
IBM Cloud Pack supports not only private clouds but also various public clouds provided by IBM Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and Alibaba.
The newly launched IBM Cloud Paks will provide IBM-certified containerized software, provide a common operating model for identity management, encryption, monitoring, and logging through a consistent and intuitive dashboard across all clouds, and provide visibility and management capabilities.
IBM also announced three services:
Red Hat OpenShiftRed Hat OpenShift on IBM Cloud is a managed service of OpenShift running on the IBM public cloud. It helps enterprises modernize and transition to a hybrid cloud infrastructure, with one-click deployment of automated recovery, compliance, and security.
IBM plans to bring Red Hat OpenShift to its enterprise systems, IBM Z and LinuxONE, through Red Hat OpenShift on IBM Z and LinuxONE. IBM Z and LinuxONE currently processes more than 30 billion transactions worldwide every day.
Red Hat Consulting and Technology Services is a new offering that provides design, implementation, migration, and management services needed for enterprise customers to migrate workloads to the cloud. These services are delivered by the world's largest Red Hat-certified consulting team, comprised of over 80,000 professionals.
The software and services IBM announced today include more than 100 products from IBM's software portfolio optimized for Red Hat OpenShift and will be available on IBM Cloud Pax, IBM's hybrid multicloud platform.
IBM Cloud Fax is built on open source technologies, including OpenShift, a comprehensive enterprise Kubernetes platform, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, an enterprise Linux platform. Enterprise customers can choose the optimal architecture and approach to meet their mission-critical application, data, and workload requirements.
“IBM has been moving its existing software to open to accelerate the migration of enterprise workloads to the cloud,” said Arvind Krishna, senior vice president of IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software. “Together with Red Hat, IBM will provide essential tools for enterprise customers migrating to the cloud through common open standards.”
“Red Hat is empowering enterprises to innovate with Linux-based technologies like containers and Kubernetes, which have become core foundational elements of hybrid cloud environments,” said Jim Whitehurst, president and CEO of Red Hat. “Customers can develop modern applications in either traditional on-premises environments or any type of cloud environment, leveraging IBM’s expertise and ecosystem of developers and partners in an open hybrid cloud environment.”

IBM to Provide Technical Advisory for Daejeon Smart City Challenge Project
IBM announced that it will provide technical consulting in the field of data architecture for building a smart city challenge in Daejeon Metropolitan City. The Smart City Challenge project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport aims to support the discovery of business models that solve urban problems using smart city technology. Lian van Veldhuizen, Vice President of Commercial Business at IBM Asia-Pacific headquarters, visited Daejeon City Hall and signed an agreement with Daejeon Mayor Huh Tae-jeong to support solutions and technical consulting for establishing a data hub, which is the core infrastructure of the Smart City Challenge project, and discussed specific measures. IBM and AT&T Strengthen Collaboration in Cloud and Open Source
IBM has established a multi-year strategic partnership with AT&T. Under the agreement, AT&T Communications will leverage IBM's technological capabilities to modernize internal software applications of AT&T Business Solutions and proceed with migration to IBM Cloud. IBM will also provide infrastructure to support AT&T Business applications. AT&T Business plans to manage workloads and applications using Red Hat's open-source platform. IBM will designate AT&T Business as a key SDN supplier. AT&T Business will contribute to IBM's networking solution innovation by applying advanced technologies including 5G, edge computing, IoT, and multi-cloud capabilities using Red Hat.

VMware workloads can now run on GCP.
구글 클라우드와 VMware가 고객의 VMware 워크로드를 구글 클라우드 플랫폼(GCP)에서 실행하는 신규 서비스 Google Cloud VMware Solution by CloudSimple을 발표했다. 새로 공개된 솔루션은 고객이 VMware 워크로드를 온프레미스나 하이브리드 아키텍처, 클라우드를 막론하고 어디서든지 자유롭게 운용할 수 있는 선택권과 유연성을 제공한다. Google Cloud VMware Solution by CloudSimple은 VMware의 검증된 클라우드 파트너사인 클라우드심플이 설계와 운영을 담당하고, GCP 상에서 구동되는 VMware Cloud Foundation 인프라 소프트웨어를 활용해 서비스된다.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. The plan is to consistently manage access permissions in an environment where AI agents are increasing as work execution entities, while applying the principle of least privilege and automated policy enforcement. The two companies plan to jointly expand capabilities to manage the identities of various entities, including AI agents, within a single layer in the AWS environment. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
