Honeywell Sensing & IoT announced on the 23rd that it launched the MPR series short port type micropressure sensor at the end of July.

The MPR series is an ultra-compact piezoresistive silicon pressure sensor that supports IoT applications by providing digital output to measure pressure over a full-scale span and temperature range.

Since an ASIC is used, it is possible to correct and compensate for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and nonlinearity within a specific temperature range.

With an error range of ±2mm and improved liquid level measurement accuracy, it is suitable for liquid level measurement applications and is optimized for home appliances such as coffee makers, washing machines, dishwashers, and beverage vending machines.

The new product is an ultra-small package of 5mm x 5mm, which allows for the minimization of PCB installation space. It complies with the IPC/JEDEC J-STD-020D.1 Humidity Sensitivity Level-1 standard and increases system energy efficiency through low-power operation, thereby extending battery life.

Since it provides performance within a compensated temperature range, there is no need to test and calibrate individual sensors, which can reduce costs and improve sensor accuracy.
