| U+ Unveils Cloud Gaming Service GeForce Now
You can enjoy PC games exactly as they are on your smartphone

Cloud gaming services, which allow users to enjoy games via streaming without downloads and regardless of device specifications, are becoming fully available.

LG Uplus announced on the 27th that it is entering the cloud gaming market based on 5G networks.

To this end, LG Uplus plans to partner with NVIDIA to exclusively launch 'GeForce NOW,' a cloud gaming service that can be used on 5G smartphones and PCs without downloading, in Korea.

GeForce Now is providing a free beta service to approximately 300,000 selected users in North America and Western Europe. It is garnering attention from gamers, with over 1 million people on the waiting list for the pilot service, and is raising expectations as a next-generation game platform.

With GeForce Now, smartphones and PCs only support screen output and input, and since all computing processing required for the game is performed on cloud servers, high-spec games can be streamed from the cloud and played in seconds on 5G smartphones as well as low-spec PCs or laptops.

LG Uplus offers about 150 types of games, including popular PC games and PC versions of console games, during the free trial period, and plans to further expand to over 200 types of popular blockbuster games with high definition and large capacity by the end of the year.

You can play not only free online games but also games purchased on existing platforms such as Steam and Uplay. Game patches and updates are handled automatically, providing the best possible gaming environment.

Indoors, it is also possible to connect using gigabit internet or gigabit Wi-Fi.

It is also compatible with Bluetooth gamepads, just like console games. The official NVIDIA gamepad 'GLAP,' designed by Samsung Electronics, is available for purchase at the U+ Shop.

To expand the customer experience prior to the full-scale commercialization of the service, a free trial opportunity will be provided to customers using 5G premium plans or higher starting in September.

Customers using a 5G premium plan (95,000 won) or higher can download the GeForce Now app from the App Store starting next month, sign up for the service, and try it out in advance without any additional fees. The PC version of GeForce Now can be downloaded from the GeForce Now introduction page on the LG Uplus website.

Lee Sang-min, Executive Vice President and Head of the FC Division at LG Uplus, stated, “We will continuously strengthen our 5G content competitiveness by providing customers with new 5G service experiences, extending from augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) to games.”

Meanwhile, interest in cloud gaming is growing among major global companies. Google's Stadia and Microsoft's xCloud are preparing and operating pilot services ahead of their respective global commercial launches next year.
