Analog Devices multiplexers featuring high robustness, low charge injection, and low leakage
August 23, 2012 – Analog Devices (www.analog.com, NASDAQ: ADI), a leading global provider of high-performance signal processing technology and data converter solutions, today introduced two new multiplexer products that guarantee latchup protection in high-voltage industrial applications operating up to ±22V. Latchup is a condition in which an unwanted high current state persists until power supply is removed, which can cause device failure.
ADI's new multiplexers are well-suited for data acquisition and sample-and-hold applications requiring low glitch and fast settling time, thanks to extremely low charge injection characteristics (0.35 pC).
The low leakage characteristic (20pA) ensures high precision and resolution, providing advantages in audio and video signal routing. The ADG5206 and ADG5207 multiplexers are the latest additions to ADI's switch and multiplexer protection product portfolio. This portfolio also includes the ADG5212 and ADG5213, industry-leading latchup-protected quad switches with the lowest charge injection and low leakage.
Key specifications of ADG5206 and ADG5207
• Trench isolation between N-channel and P-channel CMOS switches ensures latchup protection.
• Operates from ±9V to ±22V for bipolar analog signal applications, and from +9V to +40V for unipolar applications.
• Features 3.5pF off-source capacitance, 60MHz -3dB bandwidth, ultra-low charge injection (0.35pC @ 0V), and leakage current when source is off (400pA @ 125°C).
• Operates equally well in both directions when ON, with input signal range extending to power supply. For OFF conditions, signal levels up to power supply are blocked. This switch exhibits break-before-make (BBM) switching operation for use in multiplexer applications.
