Launch of a New Dimension of Class-D Amplifiers for Automotive Stereo Sound
August 28, 2012, Seoul – NXP Semiconductors NV (NASDAQ: NXPI) today announced the TDF8599C, a new automotive stereo Class-D amplifier for premium in-car sound systems requiring high output and efficiency. The TDF8599C unit provides a supply voltage range of up to 48V. This offers very high output and versatility, enabling sound designers to design high-impedance load speakers. High-impedance load speakers are lighter, smaller, and more cost-effective, enabling vivid automotive sound and the ultimate sensory experience within the vehicle.
Featuring high-level sound quality that satisfies audiophiles, the TDF8599C Class-D amplifier is very powerful and specifically designed for automotive applications. The TDF8599C is an energy-efficient and eco-friendly solution with virtually no waste heat generation. With powerful 48V sound power, the TDF8599C enables high supply voltages, allowing designers to increase the impedance of the load speakers at high output levels. Higher load speaker impedance enables compact speaker designs, which can reduce weight and cable diameter.
