TI Korea (CEO Kent Jeon, www.ti.com/ww/kr ) September 3, 2012 – TI (CEO Kent Jeon) is launching a high-current, ultra-low-noise (low dropout) voltage regulator that achieves the industry's lowest noise at low frequencies. The new 1A TPS7A4700 LDO linear regulator records output noise of less than 4.17 μVrms across a bandwidth of 10 Hz to 100 kHz. It eliminates the need for expensive, large filtering components when used in a wide range of high-performance applications, including telecommunications, industrial, RF, medical, avionics, and military sectors. TI's TPS7A4700 LDO regulator is characterized by the ability to set any output voltage rail in 100mV increments with just a simple change in the PCB (printed circuit board) layout. Therefore, since expensive, high-precision external feedback resistors are not required, board area and components can be reduced compared to existing solutions.

Using digital control techniques such as I2C or PMBus, users can program the output voltage by grounding or opening the binary weighted device pin. (For details, refer to the application note www.ti.com/tps7a7200-pran-kr )
