BlackBerry's QNX Hypervisor has received ASIL D certification, the highest level of ISO 26262 certification, from independent auditor TÜV Rheinland.

This makes the BlackBerry QNX Hypervisor (Hypervisor for Safety 2.0) the world's first commercial hypervisor to achieve ASIL D safety certification.

The QNX hypervisor helps secure management by separating systems that are not particularly safety-critical, such as infotainment, from safety-critical vehicle domain controllers, and isolating critical systems in the event of a system failure.

BlackBerry QNX is recognized as a trusted embedded software leader with a long history of safety certifications, and global automakers use BlackBerry QNX products to power advanced driver assistance, digital instrument clusters, connectivity modules, hands-free, and infotainment systems.

The QNX hypervisor, which has achieved ISO 26262 ASIL D safety certification, will be showcased at BlackBerry's automotive booth at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) held at the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 7 to 10, 2020. It will be demonstrated along with related product groups.
