Mouser Unveils Reference to Reduce Circuit Design Time

Mouser Electronics offers a USB Type-C charging hub reference design that can accelerate circuit design and development time.

Mouser is now stocking new USB Type-C charging hub reference designs from Qorvo and Cypress Semiconductor, supporting applications such as power adapters for PCs and tablets, smartphone and portable chargers, car chargers, and power banks.
The Qorvo ACT4751 is a high-efficiency, synchronous step-down DC/DC converter that supports a wide input voltage range of 4.5 to 40 V, and the Cypress EZ-PD CCG3PA controller supports USB-C power source and dual-role power source/sink.
It also supports the full specification of USB PD 3.0 Programmable Power Supply (PPS), which allows the smartphone to communicate with the charger to determine the appropriate voltage and current levels, and has obtained Quick Charge (QC) 4 certification, enhancing safety and enabling rapid charging without overheating.
The ACT4751 converter and CCG3PA controller form the basis of the USB C/USB A charging hub reference design.
This solution forms the basis of the largest USB C/USB A charging hub reference design with a Type C power adapter developed based on the receptacle.
It supports a maximum output of 80W (20V, 4A), and 60W (20V, 3A, QC 3 charging) when using the existing Type A port.
