Gyeonggi Province Demonstrates Core Autonomous Driving Technology at CES 2020

To help autonomous driving innovation companies enter the global market, Gyeonggi Province and the Next Generation Convergence Technology Research Institute (NGERI) will participate in CES 2020 to showcase core autonomous driving technologies.

Yonggiwon, a specialized R&D research institute for convergence technology located in Gyeonggi-do, will present ▲autonomous driving simulation software (Morai) ▲autonomous driving precision map and spatial information software (Mobiltech) ▲deep learning-based driving situation recognition model (Aimo) ▲V2X vehicle and base station system (Waityz) ▲autonomous driving car sensor (Beatsensing) ▲zero mobility and zero shuttle (Gyeonggi-do Autonomous Driving Center) ▲autonomous driving lidar sensor (SOS Lab) ▲lidar software solution (Seoul Robotics) at CES 2020 together with eight companies located in the center.
The technology being unveiled this time is a core technology in the autonomous driving field, and YG plans to introduce Zero PM (the successor to Zero Shuttle), a single-seater electric mobility vehicle capable of indoor and outdoor autonomous movement.
Jeong Taek-dong, the director of the Gyeonggi Autonomous Driving Center, said, “This is the first overseas exhibition since the opening of the Gyeonggi Autonomous Driving Center, so we will experience the vivid atmosphere of the field delivered by global customers and investors.” He added, “We will continue to participate in various overseas exhibitions so that the companies located in the center can make their innovative technologies known to the world.”He said, “We will actively support it.”
Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Province launched the Gyeonggi Autonomous Driving Center in 2019 in collaboration with the Korea Development Institute to build an autonomous driving industry ecosystem. To support startups' demonstration testing and big data collection, and to accelerate the implementation of fully autonomous driving capable of driverless operation, the province developed the Zero Shuttle, a Level 4 autonomous vehicle, in September.
CES 2020 is the world's largest IT and home appliance exhibition hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) and will be held in Las Vegas, USA from the 7th to the 10th.
