Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Sung Yun-mo will attend CES 2020 for the first time in 16 years as a government minister.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 6th that Minister Sung Yun-mo will visit Las Vegas and San Francisco, USA from the 6th to the 9th.

Minister Sung is the first government minister to visit CES since Minister of Information and Communication Jin Dae-je in 2004.
An official from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy stated, “Through this visit, we will formulate highly effective policies that reflect the voices from the field,” adding, “We will prepare the foundation for domestic industries and companies to lead the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
In addition to attending CES, Minister Sung plans to promote the expansion of cooperation between Korean and U.S. industries in advanced sectors such as smart homes and future vehicles through meetings with global IT companies such as Google and Uber.
In San Francisco, plans are underway to host an investment roundtable for U.S. innovative companies to attract investment in Korea in the semiconductor, hydrogen economy, and startup sectors. In particular, discussions will be held on ways to expand cooperation between companies from both countries in the materials, parts, and equipment sectors.
