Arm Unveils 'Arm Custom Instructions' to Add Custom Commands to Embedded CPUs
Arm has unveiled Custom Instructions, a new feature for embedded CPUs. Through Arm Custom Instructions, SoC designers can add desired instructions for specific embedded and IoT applications without the risk of software fragmentation, with Arm TrustZone technology applied. Arm Custom Instructions support designers in easily adding user-defined datapath extensions while maintaining the existing software ecosystem by modifying the CPU to secure encoding space.

마우저, TI 임베디드 프로세서 '시타라 AM574x' 공급
마우저 일렉트로닉스가 텍사스 인스트루먼트(TI)의 시타라 AM574x 프로세서를 공급한다고 밝혔다. Arm Neon 확장 기능을 제공하는 AM574x는 듀얼 코어 Arm Cortex-A15 RISC CPU에 TI C66x 부동 소수점 DSP 코어 2개를 결합했다. 프로세서는 프로피넷, 이더캣, 이더넷/IP 등 산업용 이더넷 프로토콜에 사용할 수 있는 이중 PRU-ICSS를 포함한다. 프로그래밍 가능한 영상 처리 능력에 집적형 주변장치 세트도 갖췄으며, EVE을 최대 2개 제공한다. 암호화 가속 기능도 포함됐다.
