On the 8th, Schneider Electric announced the 'Preventa XPS Universal' safety module series, which handles a single safety function in a hardwired architecture and enhances the performance of safety modules.

Preventa XPS Universal is a product that combines the simplicity of application of hardwired safety modules with message diversity.

Previously, complex and expensive fieldbus technology was required, but the Preventa XPS Universal Safety Module can send over 40 different messages through a point-to-point connection between the module's smart solid-state output and the PLC's digital input via simple wires.

In addition, the safety module uses smart auxiliary outputs to provide information on future test cycles and the remaining cycle time until the end of life.

The Preventa XPS Universal transmits modular signals to the equipment controller. The equipment manufacturer includes two function blocks capable of decoding signals in the equipment controller, and the library provides function blocks for all programming systems of Schneider Electric controllers as well as programming systems of the most common controllers on the market.

Each model in the safety module product family allows you to select from various safety functions by using your finger, a screwdriver, or turning the rotary switch on the front panel.

Schneider Electric’s Preventa XPS Universal Safety Module implements various functions in a single product, reducing the total number of product items and simplifying spare parts logistics and equipment-related documentation.
