Announcement of Addition of 16-Mbit Parallel nvSRAM and Synchronous NAND Interface to Non-Volatile Memory Portfolio!
The new product family represents the industry's first non-volatile SRAM memory capable of directly interfacing with Open NAND Flash Interface (ONFI) and Toggle NAND bus controllers. The 16-Mbit product family expands Cypress's nvSRAM portfolio to meet the demand for solid-state drives (SSDs) for high-speed data/error loggers in enterprise systems, high-end programmable logic controllers (PLCs), storage, and networking equipment.
The 16-Mbit nvSRAM provides a low access time of 25 ns, making it the fastest asynchronous non-volatile RAM on the market. Additionally, the new device offers an optional integrated Real-Time Clock (RTC) not available in competing solutions. The RTC enables timestamping of critical data to be logged in. Cypress nvSRAM features infinite read, write, and recall cycles along with 20 years of data retention, making it the optimal solution for applications requiring continuous high-speed data writing and absolute non-volatile data security. ONFI NAND interface nvSRAM supports ONFI 3.0 NV-DDR interface (100MHz) and ONFI 3.0 NV-DDR2 interface (200MHz). Toggle NAND interface nvSRAM is compatible with Toggle 2.0 NAND controllers for DDR operation at 200MHz.

Product Status and Photos
The 16-Mbit nvSRAM family is currently being sampled, and mass production is scheduled for the first quarter of 2013. The CY14V116Fx ONFI and Toggle NAND devices operate on a 3V core and 1.8V IO supply and are available in 165-ball FBGA packages, respectively. Two asynchronous devices, with or without a Real-Time Clock (RTC), are provided in 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit data bus widths and at different power supply levels of 2.5V, 3V, and 5V. These devices are available in 44-pin TSOPII, 48-pin TSOPI, and 165-ball FBGA packages.
