34 Korean SMEs and Ventures Achieve Remarkable Success by Winning CES 2020 Innovation Awards

All 34 companies have a history of participating in Ministry of SMEs and Startups support programs.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Startup Foundation announced on the 20th that 34 domestic small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups received innovation awards at CES 2020, which was held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 7th to the 10th (local time).
The CTA, the organizer of CES, announced 464 products across 28 fields, including 3D printing, healthcare, and robotics, as winners of the 'CES 2020 Innovation Awards.' As a result, 44 Korean companies and 101 products received the Innovation Awards.
Of the 44 companies, 34 were small and medium-sized venture enterprises, accounting for approximately 77%, and 24 were startups established less than seven years ago. All 34 award-winning small and medium-sized venture enterprises received support from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups projects in which 34 companies participated included support programs for startups such as 'TIPS (Public-Private Joint Startup Discovery and Incubation Program)' and 'Startup Leap Package Program,' as well as export support programs such as 'Export Voucher Program' and 'Global Accelerating Support Program.' There were also companies that enhanced their technological capabilities through R&D projects such as the 'Innovative Enterprise Technology Development Project'.
n.thing, winner of the Best Innovation Award at CES 2020, is an IoT-based modular smart farm company. n.thing received support from the Global Accelerating Program in 2016.
THE. WAVE. TALK, which developed an IoT sensor that detects bacteria, received support from TIPS (Technology Innovation Program for Startups) in 2017 and the Startup Leap Package in 2019.
Cha Jeong-hoon, Head of the Startup and Venture Innovation Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, “We will continue to spare no effort in providing sustained support so that promising startups can thrive in the global market.”
