Honeywell Launches Stainless Steel Housing Pressure Sensor

Honeywell Sensing & IoT business unit announced on the 22nd that it launched the MIP (Media-Isolated Stainless Steel Pressure Sensor) series on the 20th.
The MIP series is a high-precision pressure sensor featuring a stainless steel housing that can be used for measuring pressure in various media. It provides industrial, HVACR, transportation, and medical solutions optimized for customer needs at a lower price compared to existing similar products in the sensor market.
The MIP series, an industry-standard-based platform product available for immediate use, is optimized for various customer-tailored applications with improved Total Error Band (TEB) accuracy, response time, and burst pressure compared to Honeywell's existing products and competitors' products.
With a TEB accuracy of up to ±0.75%FSS across the -40 to 125°C range, it improves system operating costs, uptime, and efficiency, and the laser welding seal eliminates leakage caused by the use of O-rings or adhesives. It can be used in almost all pressure media measurement environments, such as water, oil, gas, and air.
With a high burst pressure of 3,000 psi, it enhances the safety of devices and facilities, and NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 certification enables reduced system construction and operation costs for food and beverage applications. Its high EMC durability ensures stable operation even in environments exposed to electromagnetic waves from wireless devices, RF communications, and electronic equipment. It also supports fault diagnosis and troubleshooting through built-in diagnostic functions.

Honeywell Launches Micro-pressure Sensor Suitable for Liquid Level Measurement
Honeywell's Sensing & IoT division has launched the MPR series short port type, a micro-pressure sensor. The MPR series is an ultra-compact piezoresistive silicon pressure sensor that provides digital output to measure pressure across full-scale span and temperature range, supporting IoT applications. By utilizing an ASIC, it enables calibration and temperature compensation for sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature effects, and nonlinearity within specific temperature ranges. With an error range of ±2mm and improved water level measurement accuracy, it is well-suited for liquid level measurement applications and has been optimized for home appliances such as coffee makers, washing machines, dishwashers, and beverage vending machines.

KIST and KAIST Prove Potential of "Step-on Charging" Lithium-ion Batteries
As demand for large-capacity energy storage media increases, interest in developing high-capacity lithium alloy batteries is growing. However, these batteries face the problem of severe capacity degradation and significant volume changes due to pressure generated during charging and discharging processes. In particular, since phenomena that occur when pressure is applied to lithium battery electrodes take place at the nanoscale level, there have been difficulties in creating experimental environments, making direct measurement and observation challenging. In response, Dr. Kim Sang-tae's team at KIST's Electronic Materials Research Division conducted joint research with Professor Yuk Jong-min's team at KAIST to elucidate the effects of pressure during battery charging and discharging processes, and based on this, presented the feasibility of lithium-ion batteries that can be charged under applied pressure.
