Wind River announced on the 26th that it has launched 'Wind River Labs', a developer-centered software development project support site.
Wind River Labs is a site designed to increase developer access to a variety of technologies, including software projects, proofs of concept (PoC), open source integrations, and experimental software development. Through this site, Wind River distributes the VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS) software development kit (SDK) free of charge.
Wind River Labs is an open environment for all developers, enabling them to leverage a variety of edge technologies, including machine learning and computer vision. Anyone can connect with the software engineers developing their projects, other engineers working on similar projects, and the entire Wind River ecosystem.
The VxWorks SDK provided this time includes open source BSPs (Board support packages) for Raspberry Pi and UP 2 hardware. Developers can download the latest version of VxWorks and design applications by applying it to the latest projects, such as the robot operating system ROS2.
Other key projects available through Wind River Labs include: TensorFlow for Wind River Linux, OpenCV for VxWorks, Microsoft Azure IoT SDK for VxWorks, AWS IoT Device SDK for VxWorks, Google Cloud IoT Core SDK for VxWorks, Google Test Support for VxWorks, and OpenAMP for VxWorks Remote Compute.
