LG Electronics' Automotive Touchscreen Recognized for Technical Excellence by German Daimler

LG Electronics has received recognition for the technical excellence of its automotive touchscreen displays that have been supplied to German automotive manufacturing group Daimler AG since 2018.

At the Daimler Supplier Award 2020 ceremony held recently at Daimler headquarters in Stuttgart, Germany, LG Electronics received the Inspiration Award, presented to suppliers with outstanding customer value contribution and future vision.
Daimler, the parent company of the Mercedes-Benz brand, highly valued LG Electronics' automotive touchscreen displays for their contribution to ergonomic human-machine interface (HMI).
This marks the first time LG Electronics has received this award since establishing the Vehicle Component Solutions (VS) Business Division in 2013 and beginning full-scale operations.
This award signifies that LG Electronics has gained recognition for its technical capabilities from global premium vehicle manufacturers while strengthening its top-tier position in automotive components.
Kim Jin-yong, Senior Vice President and Head of LG Electronics' VS Business Division, stated, "This award represents recognition of our electrical component technology from a global premium brand," adding "We will continue to provide differentiated customer value in line with future mobility transformation."
Daimler annually selects and announces suppliers that have provided outstanding performance and partnership. This year, from approximately 450 suppliers, 10 companies were selected across four categories: sustainability, inspiration, quality, and innovation.

LG Chem Exclusively Supplies Cylindrical Batteries to U.S. Lucid Motors
LG Chem will exclusively supply cylindrical batteries to Lucid Motors' Lucid Air electric vehicle model, which will be produced from the second half of this year through 2023. The cylindrical battery measures 21mm in diameter and 70mm in height, offering 50% improved capacity compared to existing cylindrical batteries. TI Unveils Multi-Axis Coreless Current Sensor TMCS2100-Q1 for HEV/EV Traction Inverters
Texas Instruments has unveiled the TMCS2100-Q1, a multi-axis coreless Hall-effect current sensor for HEV and EV traction inverters. By simultaneously measuring horizontal and vertical magnetic fields through multi-axis sensing technology, it achieves up to 20 times higher accuracy compared to conventional single-axis sensors, while the busbar-unmodified design provides mechanical design flexibility.
