October 5, 2012 – Intersil, a world leader in the design and manufacture of high-performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors, today announced an expansion of its "HIP" portfolio of MOSFET bridge drivers for power supply and motor drive applications. The half-bridge driver with 100V, 2A, high-frequency configuration reduces rise/fall times, features adjustable dead time control, and provides flexible control output.
The HIP2120, HIP2121, HIP2122, and HIP2123 products can control half-bridge MOSFETs and offer greater flexibility to reduce the number of components in application circuits. In addition, the integrated delay timer eliminates shoot-through current that can occur in half-bridge and synchronous buck topologies, allowing designers to adjust dead time between the two outputs via external resistors. The new drivers are designed for isolated communication half-bridge DC/DC converters, non-isolated DC/DC converters, motor drivers, Class-D amplifiers, and various other application purposes.
