Development of COVID-19 related apps and web services becomes easier

It is expected that developing apps that provide information related to COVID-19, which originated in Wuhan, China, will become much easier.
The Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency (NIA) announced on the 6th that they are promoting cloud donations to overcome COVID-19 in cooperation with the domestic cloud company consortium, 'PaaS-TA Alliance'.

The PaaS-TA Alliance is a consultative body launched last September by domestic cloud companies KT, NBP, NHN, Koscom, and NIA to cooperate in creating an open cloud ecosystem.
Recently, applications developed and provided directly by the general public, such as Corona Map and Corona Doctor, have been receiving a great response, but the lack of a supportive environment places a significant personal burden on users. The government is also seeing a surge in demand for cloud services to provide ever-changing public information related to COVID-19 without disruption, even amidst a flood of traffic.
To address this urgent demand, the cloud being provided is a PaaS-TA-based cloud platform that supports the development of apps and web services, as well as a cloud infrastructure capable of flexibly responding to a surge in network traffic.
Any developer who needs cloud services for purposes such as providing COVID-19 related information can receive the cloud for free. The free cloud service will be available immediately starting Friday, March 6, and will be supported until the end of April, when the COVID-19 situation is expected to stabilize. The duration may be extended depending on the circumstances.

Global Task Force Launched to Promote 5G MEC Commercialization and Interoperability
Nine global telecom operators, including SK Telecom, have launched a Telecom Edge Cloud Task Force with the goal of commercializing 5G MEC. The Telecom Edge Cloud Task Force aims to achieve global commercialization of 5G MEC technology through interoperability between edge clouds that each operator is separately building. To this end, participating companies plan to conduct demonstration tests including interworking and sharing of edge cloud technologies and services that each company possesses.

SalePoint Signs Multi-Year Partnership Agreement with AWS… Promoting Identity Security that Integrates Even AI Agents
Sailpoint has entered into a multi-year strategic partnership agreement with AWS and is moving forward with establishing an integrated governance system that manages both human and non-human identities together. Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
