TI Korea (CEO Kent Jeon, www.ti.com/ww/kr ) October 8, 2012 – TI (CEO Kent Jeon) announced the launch of a new power module featuring 65V transient protection. The new 2.5A TPS84250 is easy to use, featuring a compact package that integrates a DC/DC converter, inductor, and passive components. It also meets the EN55022 Class B Electronic Emissions Standard and provides frequency synchronization capabilities, enabling clean operation of noise-sensitive analog circuits in test instrumentation, industrial motor control, and medical imaging applications. The TPS84250 step-down power module accepts input voltages from 7V to 50V and provides output voltages from 2.5V to 15V in a small, thin 9mm x 11mm package. (Related video: Watch at http://www.ti.com/tps84250-prv-kr )

TI offers the TPS84259 for applications requiring negative output voltage. The TPS84259 power module supplies up to 15W using a 4.5V to 40V input and features frequency synchronization and low electromagnetic interference (EMI). This new power module provides output voltages as low as -17V, enabling it to drive sensors, bipolar amplifiers, split-rail data converters, and other analog circuits. When combined with the TPS84250 and TPS84259 modules, along with the wide input voltage linear regulators 1A, 36V TPS7A4700 and 1A, -36V TPS7A3301, clean, low-noise voltage rails can be achieved.

TI's TPS84k power module family, including the TPS84250 and TPS84259, also offers product families that can be used to power DSPs and FPGAs requiring low input voltages.
