Hushing Expands Market with Pelion Device Management
Arm announced on the 20th that it has formed a strategic partnership with Hexing, a Chinese power utility solutions company.
According to the Economist IoT Business Index 2020, roughly one-third of external IoT projects are still in the early implementation stages.
Arm provides IoT connectivity and management technologies to enable partners to quickly leap from proof-of-concept to significant global scale for IoT services.
The Arm Pelion IoT platform empowers smart meter vendors and utilities to build, connect, secure, and manage Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), and this collaboration with Huxing is the latest example.
Hushing's smart meter and AMI solutions, leveraging Pelion Device Management and standards-based Wi-SUN compatible connectivity, will enable it to expand beyond China and Africa into new markets such as Southeast Asia, India, South America, and Europe.
Wi-SUN provides cellular direct connectivity without compromise in bandwidth, throughput, and security. It provides a mesh network architecture that minimizes connections, reducing the cost of deploying large-scale devices critical to new markets.
Pelion Device Management ensures that these IoT devices can be maintained and updated over-the-air (OTA) throughout their multi-year lifecycle.

Arm Unveils Two IPs That Boost IoT Machine Learning Performance by 480x
Arm이 소형 IoT 및 임베디드 디바이스에 온디바이스 머신 러닝 처리 성능을 제공하는 Cortex-M55 프로세서, 그리고 Ethos-U55 microNPU를 공개했다. Cortex-M55는 Arm의 헬륨 벡터 프로세싱 기술을 통해 전 세대 Cortex-M보다 ML 성능을 15배, DSP 성능을 5배 높였다. 또한, Ethos-U55에 페어링하면 기존 Cortex-M 프로세서보다 ML 성능을 480배 향상할 수 있다.
