The EVL150W-HVSL is a 150W and 1A main input driver that achieves a maximum load efficiency of over 91%, reducing utility costs associated with street light operation.

The Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) meets the limitations of the relevant EN55022 and has a Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) of less than 10% for input current at 230V AC and 30 to 100% of the maximum load, meeting the European EN61000-3-2 Class-C and Japanese JEITA-MITI Class-C standards for lighting equipment.

The EVL150W-HVSL supports a general-purpose 90~264V AC input and complies with IEC 60950-1 and 62368-1 safety standards. It supports analog, resistive, and PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) dimming modes, and flicker-free PWM dimming is reduced to 1% at all frequencies.

In addition, it includes ST’s integrated Power-Factor Correction (PFC) controller STCMB1 and a high-voltage resonant half-bridge controller operating in an LCC topology. It is suitable for driving LEDs as it can deliver constant current independently of the output voltage.

Equipped with features such as continuous on-time PFC control, resonant half-bridge time-shift control, and hard-switching prevention, it reduces the number of external components and ensures high dynamic performance and ripple rejection.

In burst mode, the PFC and half-bridge are synchronized, allowing light-load input power consumption to be reduced to less than 0.5W. The compact 20-pin STCMB1 also integrates an 800V startup circuit and X-capacitor discharge and power sequencing circuits. An auxiliary power supply is not required.

Lighting fixtures powered by EVL150W-HVSL provide comprehensive protection features such as output overload, output short circuit, and open loop protection, and each has an automatic restart function to meet the requirements of street lighting applications.

The EVL150W-HVSL is currently in mass production and is being sold for $150 through ST and authorized distributors.
