As connectivity demands for industrial applications grow, operators need versatile solutions that can continuously expand their networks.

On the 21st, Mossa launched the MDS-G4000 series, an industrial DIN rail modular managed Ethernet switch.

The MDS-G4000 series offers flexibility to connect to a growing number of different devices by combining five types of 4-port media interface type modules and two types of power modules.

It is available in an ultra-compact size for deployment in challenging industrial environments such as inside equipment or in confined spaces such as underground and outdoor cabinets, and supports various additional installation features with DIN rail and wall-mount or rack-mount (MDS-G4028 only) options.

The MDS-G4000 series features a tool-less, hot-swappable module design, allowing field personnel to add or replace modules without shutting down the switch. It provides robust performance even in harsh environments by providing a die-cast frame and a module with elasticity that can withstand impacts of up to 300G.

Additionally, it meets stringent industry certification requirements for substation automation systems (IEC 61850-3, IEEE 1613), railway wayside applications (EN 50121-4), oil and gas applications (ATEX and C1D2), and intelligent transportation systems (NEMA TS2). However, some certifications (IEC 61850-3 Edition 2 Class 1, ATEX Zone 2, C1D2) are scheduled for completion in Q4 2020.

The MDS-G4000 series features a convenient web interface that allows you to easily search for switch functions and configure them. The latest HTML5-based interface ensures a consistent user experience regardless of whether you're using a laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

Mossa's MXview software allows you to monitor the operation of MDS-G4000 series switches on your network in real time. If a problem occurs with the switch, it immediately alerts you.

Meanwhile, the MDS-G4000 series, which can be operated year-round, won the Red Dot Award 2020 in the product design category.
