Cypress Partners with NVIDIA to Provide Powerful Touchscreen Designs for High-Performance Tablets!

Cypress Korea (Country Manager Lim Young-do www.cypress.com ) announced that Cypress is collaborating with NVIDIA to develop touchscreen implementations for upcoming Android-based tablet products.

This design is based on Cypress's single-chip TrueTouch® solution for large touchscreens up to 11.6 inches and NVIDIA Tegra™ mobile super chips.

NVIDIA Tegra heralded a new wave of super phones and tablets unlike anything experienced before. Along with the world's first mobile dual-core CPU, Tegra delivers the entire web with hardware-accelerated Flash and provides HD video and console-quality games with NVIDIA GeForce™ GPUs.

The new high-performance CY8CTMA884 TrueTouch solution is the first single-chip controller for large multi-touch touchscreens up to 11.6 inches. The CY8CTMA884 family provides 60 sensing I/O channels with support for up to 884 nodes on the screen, which is more than any other single-chip solution in the industry. Additional sensing channels are essential for greater accuracy, linearity, support for small-sized fingers, and the ability to handle multiple fingers held close together. This solution offers 10-finger touch support, low power consumption, exclusion of grip and palm, high accuracy, and fast scanning time.
