5G-based autonomous forklifts and logistics robots unveiled
5G communication configuration inside the exhibition hall

LG Uplus will be participating in the '2020 RoboWorld' exhibition held at KINTEX in Ilsan from October 28th to 31st, showcasing logistics robots and unmanned forklifts.
We will be showcasing various industrial solutions, including 5G-based unmanned forklifts and logistics robots, for the first time with key partners such as Clark, a global forklift specialist, KN, a logistics automation company, and Mushaini, an AI-based logistics solution provider.

The "5G autonomous forklift" is a solution that enables the unmanned operation of forklifts, a key piece of equipment used across industrial sectors such as manufacturing plants, logistics centers, and airports, without the need for a supervisor. Its key features include precise positioning to within 10 millimeters (millimeters) and the ability for a single operator to control up to 50 vehicles simultaneously.

"5G logistics robots" are a key solution that has recently gained attention due to the proliferation of smart logistics. Robots replace the transport and storage tasks within factories and logistics centers. This drastically reduces logistics processing times, enabling faster inventory entry and exit, thereby reducing logistics costs.

2020 RoboWorld is Korea's largest robot exhibition hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, with an exhibition booth spanning approximately 165 square meters. The previous "2019 RoboWorld" attracted approximately 30,000 buyers and 60,000 visitors, and the export consultations during the event alone reached $62 million, garnering significant attention from both domestic and international industries. This year, 150 companies from around the world are expected to participate, exhibiting in approximately 400 booths.

Additionally, LG U+ completed network configuration to enable actual 5G communication within the KINTEX exhibition hall, allowing visitors to experience the ultra-low latency service of the 5G network firsthand.

An LG Uplus official said, “We decided to participate in the 2020 RoboWorld, Korea’s largest robot exhibition, to promote our 5G dedicated network-based logistics facility solutions,” adding, “We will continue to strive to provide customers with opportunities to directly experience useful enterprise 5G services in industrial settings.”
