LS Cable & System announced on the 3rd that it has developed an optical cable to prevent hacking and is ready for mass production.
This product uses special optical fibers and has a reinforced coating to fundamentally block illegal information leakage and disruption.

Optical cables transmit signals using light, but when the cable is bent into a circle, the light escapes due to its straight-line nature. At this time, hacking equipment can be connected to intercept the optical signal and extract information, or conversely, optical signals can be added to paralyze the communication network.

Previously, methods such as infrared coating and adding metal tubes were used to prevent hacking, but they are not widely used because they are expensive to manufacture and difficult to install.

LS Cable & System said that general optical cables are often defenseless against hacking, as they can intercept almost all information transmitted, including emails, financial transactions, and CCTV footage. They expect the introduction of anti-hacking optical cables to increase, especially in the financial, defense, data centers, and CCTV industries.
