Schneider Electric announced on the 6th that it is strengthening its core solutions for implementing data centers and edge computing.
Schneider has launched EcoStruxure IT Expert, proposing three innovative elements. The company stated that this improved solution will make remote monitoring and management more robust and secure.
EcoStruxure IT Expert is Schneider Electric's next-generation data center management solution, enabling remote management anytime, anywhere, from mobile devices and tablets. EcoStruxure IT Expert leverages a data lake collected from millions of Schneider Electric-connected devices to curate and analyze relevant data, delivering actionable insights.
First, Schneider has further enhanced the capabilities of EcoStruxure IT Expert, a platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to assess and manage UPS battery health. EcoStruxure IT Expert's UPS battery health assessment function predicts battery life based on specific UPS conditions. This self-assessment scores facilitates UPS management. Additionally, you can generate battery health scores and recommended actions to improve lifespan, reducing operating expenses (OpEx) and preventing unplanned downtime.
In addition, the company announced the new UPS Management Network Card 3 (NMC3), featuring cybersecurity features, to make remote management and monitoring easier for customers. The company also introduced the NetShelter 9000 Series Switched Rack Power Distribution Unit (PDU), which is compatible with high temperatures and offers enhanced remote management reliability.
The NetShelter 9000 Series PDU is a switched rack designed for edge computing and cloud service providers. This intelligent rack PDU features NMC3 and an industry-first hybrid outlet to maintain power even at higher temperatures and densities. The new PDU boasts measurement accuracy of within 1%. Customers can remotely control power and reboot multiple devices and disconnected servers in the field through EcoStruxure IT Expert, while reducing the need for on-site personnel.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
