Seoul, Korea, December 3, 2012 – Spansion (NYSE: CODE), a leader in flash memory solutions, announced the appointment of Choi Chung-won as the new general manager and sales director of Spansion Korea. The newly appointed General Manager Choi will play a key role in expanding Spansion's business engagement opportunities in the Korean market.

Newly appointed General Manager Choi has accumulated more than 26 years of professional experience and expertise spanning planning, sales, marketing, and management in the semiconductor industry across enterprise solutions business as well as automotive, consumer, PC, mobile, and embedded sectors. Prior to joining Spansion, he served as vice president of TI Korea, where he led the domestic integration process resulting from the merger of TI and National Semiconductor (NS). He also oversaw sales and OEM business operations at global semiconductor companies including NS, Freescale, TI, and AMD.
General Manager Choi holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Sungkyunkwan University. He received the Asia OEM Sales Award in 2002 and the Analog Sales Excellence Award (Top Growth Analog Sales) in 2006.
