Analog Devices' 24-bit Sigma-Delta A/D Converter Achieves Twice the Speed and Industry's Lowest Noise Performance Compared to Competitors
Designed for process automation and instrumentation equipment requiring faster channel monitoring due to increased data channel density, ADI's AD7176-2 A/D converter achieves a multi-channel scan rate of 50 kSPS (thousand samples per second). The AD7176-2 enables precise signal measurement with low input bandwidth, a unique advantage of the sigma-delta architecture, thereby increasing the manufacturing process speed of automated high-precision production lines. The AD7176-2 achieves up to 17.2 noise-free bits at a speed of 250 kSPS when measured with a single channel, and up to 22 noise-free bits at 5 SPS.
The AD7176-2 A/D converter saves board space and reduces bill of materials (BOM) while maintaining high performance through high-precision on-chip peripherals such as a 2.5V ±2.5ppm/°C reference and a ±2.5% internal oscillator. In addition, this new converter product optimizes stabilization, resolution, and line frequency rejection by incorporating a flexible on-chip digital filter. In addition, the new converter product can be configured on a per-channel basis, allowing for the setting of different filters and output data rates, as well as offset and gain error correction per channel.
