Fairchild Semiconductor's 40V PowerTrench(R) MOSFETs Deliver Improved Power Control and Efficiency in Power Steering Applications
Automotive power steering system design engineers are demanding solutions that deliver improved efficiency and power control characteristics. Fairchild Semiconductor's (NYSE: FCS) 40V N-channel PowerTrench® MOSFET helps designers address these technical challenges.
The FDB9403 utilizes Fairchild's shielded-gate technology to improve resistance characteristics while reducing capacitance. The device offers a 20% lower RDS(ON) than the nearest competitor, as well as a low Qg value that reduces power consumption and ultimately improves overall efficiency. The FDB9403 MOSFET is a basic switch for current control, optimized for electronic power steering, suspension control, and power train management applications because it controls it efficiently without consuming power.
Features and Benefits:
• Typ RDS(ON) = 1mΩ at VGS = 10V, ID = 80A for reduced power consumption and improved efficiency.
• Typ Qg(tot) = 164nC at VGS = 10V, ID = 80A to reduce power consumption for improved efficiency
• UIS performance
• RoHS compliant and AEC Q101 certified
