Telit Launches High-Performance 3G Modem 'Martner Blue' Supporting Stable M2M Communication
This new product, launched as part of Telit's new business strategy 'Telit is in IT' to expand the M2M ecosystem, has received telecommunications certification from the Korea Communications Commission and SK Telecom. In addition, it has undergone field verification prior to commercial sales through actual customer applicability testing and refinement work for three months following the certification.
Matner Blue has adopted Telit’s UC864-K HSDPA wireless data module and MDT-800 automotive positioning system hardware platform, which have already been recognized for their stability in various fields such as PDAs, POS systems, and telematics. This has significantly enhanced its value as an M2M product where stable communication is paramount, enabling customers to supply reliable products to end users.
In particular, it supports UART (RS-232) and USB connections to easily replace existing 2G products, and by implementing an input power of 5V to 36V to minimize power consumption, it can be applied to various solutions ranging from stationary to automotive types. Furthermore, it is the only modem on the market to offer voice functionality, and with support for USB drivers for Android and Win CE operating systems, it can be utilized in various industrial fields requiring high-capacity communication, such as security cameras and digital billboards. This product supports data transmission speeds of 7.2 Mbps (downlink) and 384 kbps (uplink).
Derick Tsang, President of Telit’s Asia-Pacific region, said, “The core of M2M is stable data communication. By collaborating with Telit, which has proven its reliability to leading global customers, and a specialized solution provider with deep know-how in the domestic telecommunications environment, we are able to enhance the potential of M2M in various fields.”
"This product focuses on supporting customers in developing solutions in the most efficient way," said Jeon Seung-min, a manager at Martner. "Based on field-verified stability, we will be able to protect customers' investment costs, and we plan to provide customized technical support through closer collaboration with Telit."
This product is currently available for purchase through Mattner and other Telit distribution channels, and to celebrate the product launch, Telit is running a promotion that allows customers to save 30–40% of the original purchase price by purchasing the product in combination with a carrier activation, including the 2G modems BSM-856 and BSM-860S.
