Maxim Integrated's DeepCover Chipset Enhances Security Authentication Between Systems and Peripherals
San Jose, California, December 5, 2012 — Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) announced that it has begun supplying samples of a new chipset product that provides a robust level of security when peripheral authentication is required. Part of Maxim’s DeepCover™ security family, this chipset consists of the DS2465 security coprocessor with an integrated 1-Wire® master and the DS28E15/DS28E22/DS28E25 1-Wire security authentication devices. This security chipset can protect revenue streams by ensuring that only authorized peripherals are available for use with OEM equipment. The security provided by this chipset will be useful for a wide range of applications in the consumer electronics, medical, industrial, and telecommunications markets.

The DS2465 coprocessor can quickly identify any 1-Wire security-certified device or unauthorized aftermarket peripherals that cannot be used in the system.
