Fortinet Announces ASIC-Equipped Firewall for WAN Edge Protection

On the 25th, Fortinet Korea announced the 'FortiGate 200F series', a next-generation firewall based on SD-WAN ASIC.
The FortiGate 200F next-generation firewall is a FortiGate appliance based on the latest version (SOC4) of Fortinet's SD-WAN ASIC, built to accelerate performance at the WAN edge.
It combines SD-WAN, advanced routing, wireless controllers, and built-in LTE connectivity with a next-generation firewall built on a unified operating system and centralized management and orchestration system.
The new series supports both WAN edge and thin edge deployments. Enterprises can integrate various point products to effectively protect their WAN edge.
It helps enterprises with thin edge-based branch offices easily replace legacy routers with SD-WAN appliances that integrate advanced routing capabilities and support various network topologies. This allows for a low-cost transition from traditional IP routing to application-centric networks.
The FortiGate 200F's Security Compute Rating delivers IPsec VPN performance that's 14x higher than the industry average, and features Fortinet's custom processors, including a SOC4 SD-WAN ASIC.

Databricks Unveils Open AI Security Monitoring 'Lakewatch'
Databricks entered the security market on March 24 by unveiling LakeWatch, an open-source agentic SIEM. The core functionality of this product is to integrate and analyze security, IT, and business data in a single environment to support AI-based threat detection and investigation. The company explained that it reduces the limitations of existing security operations centers, which have had to forgo some data due to high cost structures, and enables large-scale data analysis and automation based on open formats and ecosystems. LakeWatch is currently offered as a private preview, with Adobe and Dropbox mentioned as early customers. Databricks also announced an expanded partnership with Anthropic as well as the acquisition of Antimatter and SiftD.ai.
