OnRobot Launches MG10 Magnetic Gripper
Increased convenience with pressure control function
Finger-shaped and pneumatic grippers can be replaced


OnRobot announced the launch of its safe and accurate "MG10" magnetic gripper on the 12th. The new product is suitable for a variety of applications, including material handling, assembly, and machine tending in manufacturing, automotive, and aerospace industries. It also offers ease of use. Compatible with all major robot brands, it features enhanced pressure control and grip detection performance.

Existing magnetic grippers only offer an on/off function, and adjusting pressure requires adding rubber feet to create space between the magnet and the part. Consequently, accuracy in results is limited. In applications that involve handling thin, fragile metal parts such as sheet metal, magnetic grippers that do not have adjustable pressure often lead to unintended consequences.

“Conventional magnetic grippers require a cumbersome process of manually adjusting pressure whenever the application or manufacturing process changes,” said Enrico Krog Iversen, CEO of OnRobot. “The OnRobot MG10 magnetic gripper offers increased convenience by featuring precise pressure control.”

The MG10 gripper features a built-in grip and a sensor for component detection, preventing parts from falling in emergency situations such as a power outage during operation. It can also replace expensive conventional pneumatic grippers.

As a multi-magnet device, it can handle products of various sizes and weights, and can also handle products with unusual geometric shapes.

“As manufacturing evolves toward low-volume/high-mix production, the ability to quickly switch from one application to another is no longer a nice-to-have; it’s a must-have,” said CEO Iversen. “The MG10 magnetic gripper is an intelligent product with a wide range of applications.”
