Analog Devices' broadband differential amplifier drives high-frequency A/D converters with industry-leading distortion and noise performance.
December 19, 2012 – Analog Devices ( www.analog.com , NASDAQ: ADI), a global leader in high-performance semiconductors and RF ICs for signal processing applications, today announced a dual-channel differential amplifier to drive high-speed A/D converters from 12-bit to 18-bit.
The ADL5566 differential amplifier, providing a 3dB bandwidth of 4.5GHz, is optimized for broadband low-distortion, low-noise performance and achieves unprecedented low distortion and noise characteristics, as well as IP3/IP2 performance up to 1000MHz. The new amplifier is an ideal solution for applications where high linearity and low noise characteristics are critical, such as IF sampling receivers for wireless infrastructure equipment, industrial measurement equipment, and defense electronics.
The ADL5566 differential amplifier supports detailed specifications for frequency conditions such as 70MHz, 100MHz, 140MHz, 250MHz, 500MHz, and 1000MHz, enabling a highly flexible design that simplifies the design process, shortens time-to-market, and reduces Bill of Material (BOM) costs and board space. Based on optimal frequency distortion and noise level performance, system designers can design high-performance receivers by continuously increasing bandwidth and dynamic range. In addition, the ADL5566 differential amplifier can drive high-speed converters, such as ADI's new 16-bit 250MSPS AD9467 A/D converter, without affecting the overall system performance at all.
